Kim’s bling goes under the hammer

What a bargain for a 20.5 Carat ring!

Kim Kardashians engagement ring, is an absolute Whopper!. It has sold for a fraction of the cost at an auction by Christies in New York. The ring valued at $2million sold for a cool $620,000. Bidding opened at $200k. Bidding then to and fro’d between a telephone bidder with a bidder in the room. With fees and commission the ring will cost the buyer $750,000.

Kim’s ex husband NBA basketball player Kris Humphries decided to put the Lorraine Schwartz ring up for auction. He said he will donate a portion of the sale to charity. It is believed that he originally bought the ring for approximately 2 million dollars. The price it sold for at auction is reflected in the fact that the marriage only lasted 72 days.

The whole ring totals at an eye watering 20.5 carats. This weight is made up of a 16.21-carat rectangular emerald-cut centre diamond with I colour, VS1 clarity, and two 1.80-carat side diamonds.

In fairness to Kim she silently gave the ring back to Kris over a year ago so in fairness to Kris he waited until the divorce was finalised before he decided to sell it.
