Pure topaz is transparent and colourless. It is more usually found tinted by impurities. Commonly topaz is wine, yellow, pale grey, reddish-orange, or blue-brown. It can also be made white, pale green, blue, gold, pink (rare), or reddish-yellow.
Topaz is found in the mountains of Russia, Sri Lanka, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Norway. It is also found in Italy, Pakistan, Sweden, Japan, Brazil, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Mexico, Australia and the United States.
The most esteemed colour of topaz is called Imperial topaz. Named after the Russian Czars of the 1800s. It features a glorious orange body colour with pinkish undertones.
This gemstone is said to support vitality and health. Also while encouraging and guiding hope, energy and warmth within the person wearing it.
